The Director General of the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Faisal Abdelazim Al-Abdali, paid a visit to the Libyan Advanced Center for Chemical Analysis, one of the centers affiliated with the Authority, as part of his continuous follow-up on the progress of work. He was received by Dr. Naji Jumaa Qreish, Director General of the Center, and Ms. Mahasen Al-Khabbat, Director of Research Affairs at the Center. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Faisal toured the laboratories, where he was briefed in detail on the ongoing projects, including master’s graduation projects, research studies, as well as national projects assigned to the center by other entities. Recent research activities have focused on the use of natural materials for pollutant removal, the application of nanotechnology in the fabrication of novel materials for diverse uses such as water treatment, extraction of compounds from plants, assessment of pollutants in fish and food products, detection of adulteration in olive oil and honey, and the synthesis of polymeric materials for various applications. He also reviewed the scientific papers published in 2025, which covered diverse fields such as environment, manufacturing, and the determination of toxic elements in different materials. He praised the efforts of the researchers and engineers at the center and their significant role in advancing scientific research and achieving distinguished scientific accomplishments.
